About the lomira area food pantry

The Lomira Area Food Pantry was founded in 2005 out of a desire to make sure no neighbor in our community goes without food or hope. What began inside Trinity United Methodist Church as a small outreach led by Pastor John Hobbins and Ralph Germain has grown into a vital source of care for families across Lomira, Brownsville, Theresa, Oakfield, and surrounding communities.

Ralph’s compassion and steady leadership helped shape the Pantry’s mission from the very beginning. In 2023, he stepped down as the Food Pantry leader but continued to volunteer faithfully until his passing in 2025. Bruce Sterr stepped into the leadership role, carrying on the mission with the same heart and dedication that Ralph inspired. Ralph’s belief that “no one should have to face hard times alone” continues to guide everything we do.

Our mission

To serve individuals and families in need by providing food, resources, and encouragement in a welcoming and judgment-free environment. We believe that kindness, faith, and community can make a lasting difference, one household at a time.

WHAT WE DO:

Provide food assistance on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.

Offer guidance and referrals for additional support services.

Manage the Lomira Area Compassionate Fund, which provides limited financial assistance for local families experiencing hardship.

A Legacy of Love

The spirit of the Pantry is rooted in the legacy of Ralph Germain, whose dedication continues to inspire our volunteers and the families we serve. His story reminds us that one person’s “yes” can feed an entire community.
